Road Trip Planner is easy to use, but sometimes it may not seem so the first time. The steps below show how to create a basic Road Trip Planner document.
Create a new Road Trip Planner document, and optionally save the file to disk. Create 3 route pins by holding the shift key and clicking on the map. Alternatively, click the + button on the upper left portion of the window. Set the time & date values in the first pin to the time & date your trip starts.
As an example, we’ve created 3 route pins around Denver.
Click the Dates pane, and for each route pin, enter the amount of time you plan to spend at each location as shown below.
Next, click the Update Routes button (in the toolbar). Two things happen:
1.A route between the route pins is displayed on the map.
2.The “travel time to this location” is filled in, and all the date & time values are coordinated as necessary.
Continue adding route pins as described above. If you need to make adjustments to a route pin time or date value, select the menu option below to update the succeeding route pin date & time values. Updating the routes will also update the route pin date & time values if your preferences are set to allow this.
